Principal's Welcome
I hope you enjoy your electronic visit to the school and that you learn something of the ethos and life of this Cluny school. I appreciate the work of many people in creating the website, particularly Ms. Louise Boylan.
The foundress, Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey dedicated her life to God as a teenage girl and she worked to educate the poor, to free slaves and to nurse the sick. Today the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny continue her work in education and nursing on five continents. The spirit of the foundress burns strongly today through the activities of the girls who are involved in making life better for others. One of her phrases of encouragement was ‘Do a little good!’ Today, through their work in St. Vincent de Paul, Respect, Focus on Romania, and other groups, students respond to that call.
The girls are encouraged to become involved in learning outside the classroom, through sport and debating, through music and art. The classroom is one element of a much richer tapestry of learning by doing and extending oneself.
Parents are invited to be involved in the life of the school through the Parents’Association and to support their daughters’ school in numerous other ways.
I hope you find your visit interesting and informative.
