On Friday, 19th September our school community gathered for a beautiful opening Mass led by Br. Richard Henrick of Capuchin Franciscans. He delivered a powerful message that resonates deeply. His reflection reminded us of the blessed nature of our lives and the importance of gratitude, love, and service to others. He emphasized that our actions and attitudes have the power to shape the world around us. This message is particularly significant for our students and for us all in these turbulent times. He challenged Mount Sackville to be a community of blessings and to ask ourselves what blessings do we brings for the year ahead.

The mass finished with the whole community signing the hymn The Greatest of These commissioned for the school's 160th anniversary.

We were also honoured to welcome Sr. Alice, a sister of St. Joseph of Cluny, whose life and mission encapsulate the essence of what we stand for as a school. Sr. Alice has devoted her life to the service of others, educating and counselling those in need, and bringing hope and love to many around the world. Her commitment to grounding her work in faith exemplifies the values that our school fosters. She shared stories of her journey and the profound impact that education can have on individuals and communities. Our students were reminded that like Sr. Alice, they too can make a difference in the world, guided by their faith and compassion.
