Mount Sackville are currently in the process of pursuing the PDST Wellread National Award. The Wellread Award promotes a culture of reading in our school community, with research showing the positive impact of reading on students’ personal and academic development. The Wellread Award is truly a team effort, and requires the involvement of students, teachers, parents, the board of management, and the wider community.

Legacy List
In the process of applying for the Wellread Award, we are organising a series of initiatives to encourage reading for pleasure. One such initiative is our “Legacy List.” We have identified books which we would like to add to our school library, including fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and history books. We invite parents and guardians to choose one book to donate to the library (new or used/in good condition); we will affix a label to the book stating the name of the donor and an optional short message. This initiative will help build our school’s library collection, while engaging families in developing resources and building positive reading habits. Please see here for a link to Legacy List
